  • It is a combination of the techniques used in Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy with the basic objective of helping a Client to get over the difficulties in a holistic way that he or she is facing. To understand it further, let’s understand the concept of both. I, being trained in both techniques can effectively use it to help people.
  • Psychology is the study of human behaviour and psychotherapy is an umbrella term for the many different ways of helping people with their thoughts and emotions. Hypnotherapy falls into this category, so the purpose is to compare it with traditional forms of psychotherapy, such as working with a psychologist, psychiatrist, or even a counsellor.
  • Hypnotherapy has two significant advantages over other psychological approaches: Hypnotherapy deals directly with the subconscious mind. Hypnotherapy is usually far quicker in producing beneficial changes and results. These two factors are linked. Hypnotherapy tends to be quicker because it deals with subconscious thought processes, which are often the cause of many people’s problems. To be clear, I am not saying that hypnotherapy is superior, just that we have an advantage that sometimes can produce faster results than the other methodologies. Hypnotherapy can also sometimes produce results, where other methodologies might fail. Direct communication A hypnotherapist is in a unique position of actually being able to communicate with the subconscious mind directly in a way that nobody else can.
  • A psychotherapist can, but it takes much longer, as a rule. A counsellor can but will be no faster than the psychotherapist and possibly less effective. A psychiatrist can, but seldom without dependency-creating medication. A psychoanalyst can, but will take several years to do it effectively. Hypnotherapists and psychotherapists have an understanding of the way the psyche works and also have a recognition of how beliefs about one’s self can be so inaccurate, how and when they will have been formed, and how limiting they can be. In addition to this, we both know more than a thing or two about communication. However, our “trump card” as hypnotherapists has to be our ability to bypass that Conscious Critical Faculty so that we can work directly in the area where the problem is. It gives us a major advantage over even the very best of psychotherapists and counsellors, since the only way they can work with the subconscious is via consciousness, which means that therapy will be slower and more complex.
  • It, however, does not mean that Hypnotherapy is supreme. There are cases like OCD or in case of bipolar disorder: Psychotherapy works in a better way.
  • So, the idea is to combine the best of both techniques as per the situation with the ultimate objective of helping the Client in the best possible manner.

There are some common myths and misconceptions about hypnosis and hypnotherapy. Please read this section through and if you have any questions about hypnosis, feel free to contact me by phone or by e-mail.

Myth 1: You are asleep during hypnosis.
Fact 1: You are NOT asleep during hypnosis, you are in a relaxed state and awake. 

Myth 2: You are not aware of your environment while in hypnosis. 

Fact 2: You are aware of your surroundings, you can hear, talk, and come out of the trance at any time.

Myth 3: The hypnotist can make you do things you do not want to do, like take your clothes off or rob people.
Fact 3: You are always in control, I cannot make you do anything that you do not want to do. We use hypnosis as a treatment tool, not for entertainment purposes. Stage hypnosis is done to entertain people, while clinical hypnosis is done to help a client overcome a particular issue. The two styles of hypnosis are very different. You can always reject any suggestion.

Myth 4: You can get stuck in a hypnotic state.
Fact 4: No, you cannot get stuck in hypnosis. The hypnotic state is natural and it happens to you on a daily basis, e. g. when you are driving on the motorway or watching television.

Myth 5: The hypnotist hypnotises you.
Fact 5: Actually, you are hypnotising yourself, The Therapist just guides you through the process.

Myth 6: You lose control under hypnosis.
Fact 6:   You are always in control!

Myth 7: You have never been hypnotised.
Fact 7: The hypnotic state is a natural state of mind that you experience daily.

There is no single answer to this as it will depend on what issues you are experiencing. During your first session, you can discuss this with your therapist and leave it open-ended or decide to fix it over several sessions. Often it is agreed to work together for about 4 to 6 sessions and then review whether to continue further.

The length of a session varies slightly, but is between 50 and 60 minutes long, depending on which kind of issues you are being attended to. The First Session lasts around 90 to 120 min.

The cost per session depends on which issues are being addressed. Tentatively, the First Session costs anything between 1500 and 2000, and the subsequent sessions cost about 1000 to 1500. Separate concessional charges will apply for School and college students with valid I-Cards. Members and their dependents of the Armed forces will also get the sessions at a discounted pricing.

The Therapy is a confidential service in almost all situations. However, it is important to point out that in certain circumstances ethical and legal obligations must be considered, such as the Child Protection Act protects the rights and welfare of children and minors. The therapist will fully explain confidentiality to you in the first session.

In the event of the need to cancel a session, the client must contact their therapist immediately. Usually, a minimum notice period of 48 hours’ notice period is required

Simply contact one of us directly by phone or email. All of their contact details are on the website. It would be helpful if you could indicate in your email the days and times of your availability and the issue that you are facing. 

Generally speaking, sessions are held every week. This allows the relationship between the therapist and client to develop better as the therapy is regular and consistent, and so the client gets a faster and deeper understanding of their experiences. In some cases, they may take place on a fortnightly basis by agreement with your therapist

Yes. The Therapist has all the requisite qualifications and certifications.

It depends on the time, location and the specific issue to be addressed. The decision of the Therapist on a case-to-case basis is final. Extra charges will apply in case of Home Therapy is agreed to.

Yes. It again depends on the specific condition of the Client. The Therapist will decide on a case to case basis.

INFORMED CONSENT AND AGREEMENT
Confidentiality
I understand that all information shared during therapy sessions is strictly confidential. There are, however, a few specific legal and ethical exceptions where the therapist is required to break confidentiality:

1) If I express an intent to harm myself or others.
2) If I report any suspected abuse or neglect of a child, an elder, or a person with a disability.
3) If I am a party in a court case and my records are requested via a subpoena.

In these situations, the therapist will make every effort to discuss this with me before disclosing any information.

Client Rights
I understand that my participation in therapy is voluntary. I have the right to ask questions about the therapeutic process, refuse any proposed treatment, and end therapy at any time.

Pain Management

Pain is a common, complex, and distressing problem. Although acute pain can be a useful alert to a disease or other problem, and usually resolves when the cause has been remedied, treatment must be quick and effective to avoid reduced quality of life. Chronic pain, in contrast, presents an enduring challenge, be it related to injury that has healed, due to an unresolved cause such as arthritis or cancer, or in some cases, even when there is no evidence of previous injury or damage to the body. Chronic pain increases in prevalence with age, and as populations become increasingly aged, effective pain management strategies become highly important. Also important is the problem of acute pain transitioning to chronic pain – it is estimated that 85% of the general population will experience low back pain at some point in their lives, and while for most this pain will ease within 4–6 weeks, it is estimated that in up to 30% of these cases, pain will persist for a year or more.

Pain Management can be effectively done through Hypno-Psychotherapy methods. Hypnosis typically helps relieve pain in just 4 to 10 sessions. But some people benefit faster and others to a lesser degree. The goal is to teach you the technique so you can use it on your own when pain strikes.

In the present era, depression is sadly turning out to be an epidemic proportion. Depression can affect children and adults alike. Females are twice as likely to be affected by depression than males. Stress and Anxiety seem to be harder and harder for us to avoid in today’s fast-paced and often high-pressured society. It can hurt our physical and emotional lives, making it very difficult for us to function the way we would like. Stress and anxiety will affect all of us at some point in our lives and are one of the most commonly presented problems I deal with.

Most of the client’s improvement is normally rapid and can occur from the first session.

Cuddle Therapy

None of us can forget the famous “Jaddu ki Jhappi” in the film “Munnabhai MBBS” A hug may be just what the Doctors Ordered. Physical contact releases Oxytocin which is also called the “Cuddle Hormone” says researchers. Its production leads to what some describe as warm fuzzies- the feeling of Connection, Bonding, and Trust. Loving contact also reduces the secretion of Cortisol, the stress Hormone, making one feel calmer and better.

 This is done in a very professional manner with the consent of the client. First, the Client is made comfortable by making them sit on the Couch and talking to them about the issues bothering them. Once they start to open up, their hand is placed on the shoulder of the Therapist and tap them on their Head, and Hug them lightly. This Hugging or Embrace is just like a Mother hugging her Children or a close friend hugging another. It creates a kind of Catharsis for the Client and all the pent-up feelings are released.
